Our Annual Charity Event
A beautiful spring day was a fitting backdrop for the Lads and Ladies luncheon
and art exhibition held at Myendetta Station, on Saturday September 1st.
Over 80 people gathered at the Homestead to enjoy a beautiful social afternoon. and raise funds for the three local Charleville schools.
Seated at white linen clad tables, under large tents on the lawn, the afternoon unfolded with a beautiful three course meal, fashion parades by local boutiques, and the drawing of the multi draw raffle. With prizes in excess of $3000 the raffle created quite a stir.
Christine Porters’ (www.fullmoonpublications.com.au) series of paintings, simply titled “Myendetta”, were hung in the sitting room and created a lot of interest. Her intricate watercolours and vibrant oils copied from snapshots from around the station were captivating in their accuracy.
The black and white theme was carried through strongly with most guests coming dressed in one or both colours.
The committee wish to acknowledge and thank all the wonderful local sponsors who donated so generously to make this day such a success and also Ruth and Warwick Butler, of Elders Insurance, Roma.
Local Charleville art lover, Donna Reynolds, summed it up as:
“Fine food and wine, stunning artwork, bubbling conversations, fashion parades and a sea of black and white......all this, set on the lush lawns of the magnificent and unique "Myendetta" homestead! A truly unforgetable way to welcome the first day of Spring 2007!”
